About us

Let’s talk about us. During the spring of 2015, after being self-employed in consulting, project management and marketing for more than 15 years, we both felt an eagerness to invest in something else. We were longing for a new project together, preferably in another country.

We love it here, you will too

We, Marc Houbiers and Joanne Kloosterboer, wished for a new challenge in which we could work more closely together. Our dream was to share our passion for travel, nature and outdoor sports. We wanted to create something together on a beautiful location, close to nature; to find a spot that we, but also others, would enjoy.

Our plan

Our plan brought us back to Sweden, the beautiful country where we spent our first holiday together in 1988. After an intensive search our choice fell on the former ‘Vägsjöfors Gästgivaregård‘ in Torsby (Värmland). We renovated it into a wonderful Bed and Breakfast (B&B). This historic country inn (est. 1836) is located in an idyllic spot alongside the beautiful lake ‘Nedre Brocken’. Furthermore, it is very close to ‘Hovfjället Nature Reserve’, Sweden’s southernmost ‘fjäll’ nature.

In the direct vicinity you can engage in various typical Swedish outdoor activities. THE LODGE Torsby is also a wonderful place for ‘avkoppling’ as the Swedish say so nicely.

Our B&B has become special for us; a place where our heart starts beating faster. We love it here, you will too! The old wooden house breathes history and tranquillity, the surrounding nature offers serenity. Our dream is to share it with as many people as possible. We express this dream in the story we call ‘We Time‘.
